With hundreds of inches of snow each year and epic mountains all around, Utah is a haven for snow sport enthusiasts. There are lots of ski resorts here that cater to downhill skiers, snowboarders, cross-country skiers, and even travelers who just like to kick back and relax at the lodge. You can reach some of the most extreme skiing in the world within an hour’s drive of the Salt Lake City International Airport and experience the greatest snow on earth! Here are some of the top ski resorts for winter fun in Utah.
Park City Mountain Resort
Park City Mountain Resort is a sprawling ski area that has an awesome western ski town. With over 7,300 skiable acres, this is the largest ski and snowboard resort in America. There’s a high-speed gondola here that’s great for getting a lot of runs in before lunch. Come here to experience a huge resort atmosphere with lots of activities and attractions in town. Don’t come here if you’re trying to avoid crowds though. Make sure to stop at the ski-in/ski-out whiskey distillery, High West Distillery, while you’re here for a post-skiing cocktail. Park City is only about a 35-minute drive from Salt Lake City’s airport.
